The Cardiff practice was established in 1979 by Dr. Paul Bartley and his wife Carole. Dr. Bartley was brought up in Llanrumney and following his graduation from the university Dental Hospital in Cardiff in 1974, went to work for a few years in Newport, before setting up Rumney Hill dental surgery with Carole, who works as a hygienist at the practice.
The Rumney Hill, Cardiff practice quickly established itself and expanded over the years to the current set up where there are 4 well equipped, air conditioned surgeries employing five dentists; hygienists; nurses and reception staff.
The practice is very much a family type practice and we provide care for people of all ages from the surrounding Cardiff areas and further afield. In 2011 their son Andrew joined the team of dentists at Rumney Hill as a dentist.
In order to keep up to date with modern developments and treatments, all our dentists and staff attend regular courses to ensure they keep their skills up to date. As well as ensuring our clinical skills are up to date, we also continue to modernise the facilities and equipment in the practice. We also ensure we keep up to date with the very latest developments in materials and techniques. Since 2005 we have been a foundation training practice for the Wales Deanery.
In 2011, we achieved the “British Dental Association Good Practice Gold Award”, one of only a handful of practices in Wales to achieve it. This is an award which recognises the Practice’s commitment to quality and continued improvement in clinical, administrative and managerial procedures.
