A veneer is a thin layer of tooth-coloured material that is applied to the front of a tooth to make it look better. In some cases they can be used to make crooked teeth appear straighter and they can improve the appearance of gaps.
Veneers can be made from ceramics or composite, in a dental laboratory. They are then bonded to the teeth with a very strong adhesive. This teatment requires some tooth preparation and impressions of the teeth are required.
